“The Dancer” | Acrylic on canvas | 20 x 30 inches | Painted 2016 by Matt Cauley

Hello everyone –

As we close out the year 2016, I wanted to share one more painting.

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Charlotte on what was to become a new painting series. While that series is still being developed, I wanted to take a moment and create a painting based off one of the quieter moments from the session. There was something about the way Charlotte was posing, very poised and tranquil, and the way the light illuminated her hair… It was such a striking visual, and I wanted to capture that on canvas as well.

Click on the photo above to see the finished painting.

This has been a phenomenal year for me, artistically. I can’t thank you all enough for all the words of support, encouragement, and enthusiasm. Despite everything else that’s happened this year, I find so much comfort knowing I’ve got amazing friends out there.

Wishing you all the very best. Here’s to an amazing 2017!
