The recipe for this figure couldn’t have been more obvious. At the time of its release, the John Constantine Hellblazer figure from DC Direct seemed to be the closest we’d ever come to an official Commissioner Gordon figure.

Though a handful of this recipe have sprung up already on the web, I tried to individualize mine by modeling Gordon specifically after the vision of Tim Sale, the artist on the Long Halloween and Dark Victory series. As such, I reworked the Constantine’s face and hair, giving him Gordon’s almost 1970’s rugged look.

Gordon might be tired, but he’s not a sloppy dresser. A little tailoring on the sleeves and a total hand replacement takes care of the original figure’s lengthy sleeves. A reworked tie completes this attractive ensemble, as modeled by Gotham’s finest cop.
