Similar to my Captain America custom, Colossus uses the X-Men Evolution Motorcycle Sabretooth figure as a base figure. It might take you awhile to sand down all the detailing, but Sabretooth is a great base to work from.

He’s got an imposing shape that lends itself to a variety of characters. Plastic styrene serves to form the belt for Colossus while clear vinyl glued to the leg helped form the boots. Surprisingly, the head is not at all from an Animated style source. Rather, it is reworked from a DC Direct Amazo figure. Kneadatite is used to rework most of the features, primarily the mouth and brow.

As far as all the metal plate lines are concerned, they are simply drawn on with a mechanical pencil. Sure it might seem to be a bit of a cheat, but it allows for an overall smoother, more “animated” look that could not have been achieved as cleanly if the lines had been carved.
